Today is our last day in San Francisco

Jane and I fly out on the red eye at 11:20 pm and Heather will leave us this evening to spend tonight and tomorrow with Gordon and Liya. Until she arrived on Friday she had never been in San Francisco and it has been a real gift to see the city through her eyes. The incredible hotel (thanks to Barbara) in a location that is nothing short of amazing has been such a blessing. Had we been staying out in the Richmond as originally planned, we would have spent the majority of our time on the bus. With this location, we were able to do a great walk on Friday evening down to the Ferry Building to explore (what a COOL place!) then back to the Ferry Plaza farmers' market on Saturday morning. The restaurant where we held the shower is actually attached to the hotel so all we had to do was cart everything downstairs in the elevator rather than schlepping it across town. All in all, we really lucked out and I am most appreciative of all the people who made this event possible.

As great as it has been to see everyone and enjoy the city, I think Jane and I will both be happy to be home with our babies even if my little ones are more focused on what I'm bringing them than me being home. Such is life when you have fashionable little girls. Kenny and Alec are far less acquisitive and will just be glad to see their mom.

All in all, one of the best trips ever, tsunami and all.
