We leave for San Francisco in less than two weeks! Jane, bless her organized little heart, has been the family gift collector and has acquired another wonderful thing that I am not going to reveal because the mother-to-be may read this (but let's just say its is very, very special). She and Barbara have really taken care of everything and I have no doubt both the trip and the shower will be a crashing success.
We'll be packing a lot into a very short trip but one of the most wonderful parts, I hope, will be getting to know our darling Heather much better. Yes, I know she's in her thirties but to me she will always be the sweet little red-headed girl who walked down the aisle with Bertums at JH's first wedding (what number is he on now? I forget...). Is it going to seem weird to share a bottle of wine and adult conversation with her? Maybe only for the first few minutes. At any rate, we meet up at the airport on Friday morning and San Francisco had better be prepared.
Another fun part of the trip will be our training walk on Saturday morning. Everyone knows that Jane and I are signed up for the 3-Day for the Cure again this year and we thought it would be a great way to kick off our training to do a walk in San Francisco on Saturday morning. Wish you all could walk with us! We discovered on our walk through DC that you might think you know a city but it looks amazingly different from the sidewalk than it does from inside a car. I'm looking forward to seeing a whole new city than we've seen before and taking tons of pictures. Hopefully I can get them on the web this time - thanks to my adorable children, all my pictures from the 3-Day somehow got gone. I'm sure it wasn't on purpose. At least I think I am.

My friend, rest assured that we will ALL be walking "with you" in SF.
