I spent a wonderful morning with Laura and her class visiting the Peter Burr Farm in Kearneysville, WV, a colonial farm that has operated almost continuously since the time the Burr family first created their homestead. We saw the tool shop, dipped candles, learned about toys and dancing from the time (Laura actually had to hold hands with one of the boys from her class for the dancing and I thought she was going to want to scrub her hands with sulfuric acid to get rid of the boy molecules), and spun wool and linen. Except for the fact it was 95 degrees and about 200 percent humidity it was a really fun and interesting field trip.
